Helping teams write clearly and effectively
When a UK educational association wanted to offer its members a series of workshops on how to write better copy, I produced a bespoke, three-hour online workshop, with interactive exercises for up to 12 delegates. We walked through the nuts and bolts of what makes good, clear marketing copy, the importance of focusing on the reader’s needs, writing for the web, structure, headings, case studies and tone of voice. Since then, I’ve been invited to deliver more sessions for a maths charity, a university, and a schools’ outreach programme. Some delegates were marketing professionals who appreciated a refresh, others were dipping their toes into writing for their organisations for the first time. Feedback has always been good, and I’ve since seen some of the end results published online. Thumbs up!
